Laura V. Diaz-Zuniga is a politics reporter who focuses on informing readers on the facts. She earned a Master of Arts in Mass Communication from Georgia State University in December of 2015. Diaz-Zuniga also earned her Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Italian from the same institution. Atlanta-raised and Colombian by birth, Diaz-Zuniga utilizes her diverse background and experiences to bring a fresh insight to her articles.

Diaz-Zuniga is currently the legislative intern for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Her duty is to cover events and legislation during the 2016 Georgia legislative session. She has authored and co-written articles about a vast variety of topics, including medicinal marijuana expansion, the 'campus carry' bill, 'religious liberty' efforts, anti-abortion measures, Super Tuesday, a massive expansion of transit in the metro Atlanta area, and a state criminal system reform among others.

During her time as a graduate student, Diaz-Zuniga served as a tutor at GSU's Journalism Writing Center. Her duty was to tutor undergraduate students on how to write in AP style, proper article formatting and production of insightful features.

During the last semester of her undergraduate career in the spring of 2012, Diaz-Zuniga studied abroad in Venice, Italy. The experience nourished her interest in international journalism. As a result, Diaz-Zuniga interned for British company StantonPace in London during the summer of 2014. This internship allowed Laura to write and edit articles and original features for lifestyle publications CaravanTimes and MotorbikeTimes.

Diaz-Zuniga's passion for journalism stems from her desire to provide a voice to the voiceless. Her professional goal is to become a world-renowned journalist who brings light to obscure social issues.
